All political parties need to unite and fight against Carona: Khatter

CHANDIGARH/ AMBALA:  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter arrived at Ambala on helicopter to review health department arrangements to fight fast increasing cases of Carona virus, had a meeting with all Ambala district administration officers along with Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel in which Deepti Umashankar Commissioner, Ashok Sharma Deputy Commissioner, Y. Purankumar IGP, Hameed Akhtar SP, Dr Kuldeep Singh CMO were present. Chief Minister also inspected newly installed Oxygen Generation Plant at Civil Hospital Ambala City to start refilling oxygen in a day or so.

Addressing media persons, Khatter said there is no shortage of oxygen beds and Ventilator beds in hospitals in Haryana state and the only problem is transportation of oxygen cylinders, more over daily supply of oxygen in the state has been enhanced by the government. Khatter directed police officers to take stern action against those violating safety measures as well as violating section 144 during curfew and punish those involved in black marketing of oxygen and drugs. He directed CMO to get displayed the availability of vacant beds, oxygen beds and ventilator beds in all hospitals in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma told Chief Minister that there are total number of 11 hospitals, which include five government hospitals and six private hospitals in the district treating Carona patients having facility for oxygen as  well as ventilator beds. He said, there is provision for 750 oxygen beds in the hospitals. Chief Ministe directed CMO Ambala to provide proper treatment to all patients undergoing home isolation.

Addressing media persons at Chandigarh, Khatter made an appeal to all political parties in opposition as well as social welfare organizations to join hands and come forward to assist government to fight jointly against Carona claimed large number of lives in past few days. Information reveals, Carona positive cases have been recorded 6.33%, whereas death rate of victims suffering from disease has reached 0.87% which is a matter of concern. Khatter said, we have made atmosphere positive at this stage but need to save ourselves becoming positive. Khatter said, every life is costly for their family as well as to the government and we are keen to save every life. He said, during first Carona variant the number of Carona positive cases in the state was recorded as 3100, but during second Carona variant at resent the number of Carona positive cases has reached more than four times. Chief Minister disclosed that the number of beds in the hospital in the state is being increased which include 650 beds in Jindal Model School at Hisar, 650 oxygen beds at Rohtak, 100 beds at Medical College Faridabad and 250 beds in a prominent guest house at Gurugram. Khattr said, all efforts will be made there should be no shortage of oxygen beds in hospitals in Haryana state. He said, there is sufficient stock of liquid as well as gas form oxygen in the state.

Meanwhile, HPCC president Sut a year rule in the state and remained unsuccessful in every sector. In-spite of been in opposition, Congress is fully prepared to support ruling BJP government to wipe out Carona disease from the state and her party has already appointed district coordinators for the rescue of suffering people in the state. She demanded vaccination to be carried on war footing basis in the state to save people and expressed deep concern over acute shortage of oxygen beds in state hospitals.

Deepender Hooda Rajya Sabha member while talking to media persons said, it is not the time to play politics but provide relief to people jointly by all political parties in the state should join hands to fight disease. Hooda said, Congress Volunteers have been appointed in every district in the state to help sufferers. Rajya Sabha members blame BJP government in the state failed to control epidemic outbreak in the state in past about a year, neither installed even a single oxygen plant in state hospitals nor increased oxygen beds in the hospitals. Hooda said, nearly 200 Congress volunteers are providing services to victims in the state.
