Amritsar police registered criminal case against Pannu of banned SFJ

Amritsar: The Punjab Police have registered criminal case against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) on charges of sedition and secessionism. The case was registered at Police Station Sultanwind Amritsar.

The case was registered against Pannu by Pannu on the basis of voice message viral on social media under section 153 A (“promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race),,  153 B, (commits an offence in any place of worship or in any assembly engaged in the performance of religious worship) 505 of IPC (publishes or circulates any statement or report containing rumour or alarming news with intent to create on grounds of religion, race) and 66 IT  ACT, said police.

However, two days ago, Pannu through social media has threatened the management of the Temple by  claiming that Durgiana temple in Amritsar had no historical significance in the Hindu religion. Pannu had warned its management to close the temple and hand over the keys to Golden Temple administration, since this temple was constructed as replica of Golden Temple. Pannu had released a video message in this regard on Social media.
