Ambala, March 5 (Satish Handa): Cabinet Health Minister Haryana Anil Vij inaugurated three new projects at 120 years old civil hospital Ambala Cantt since British era. Amount worth over Rs 50 crore was spent by Haryana state government for construction of new building. It was due to Vij’s efforts a Cath Lab for heart patients, most modern equipped laboratory and a cancer tursery near to completion was set up in this hospital said to be mini PGI in the state.in past couple of years. Vij while talking to media persons admitted acute shortage of doctors in the hospital assuring that efforts are being made to appoint specialists soon.
Among new projects included inauguration of Litho-tropsy Machine to remove stone from kidney without surgery costed Rs 3.5 crore. Vij also laid foundation stone for a blood bank in the hosp[ital having capacity for storage of 300 units blood along with three refrigerators, blood purification unit and process for safety of blood for five days. He also laid foundation stone for a mortuary in the hospital for storage of bodies with air conditioning system to cost worth Rs 2 crore.
