Another Scam: 216 Home Guards illegally recruited in Haryana allegedly by corrupt officers

Chandigarh (Satish Handa): After illicit liquor and registration of properties scam rocked Haryana state in recent past sometime, another scam as regard recruitment of 216 home guards in different districts in the state with effect from January 1 to August 13, 2020 have been reported in-spite of strict directions not ro make any fresh appointment during lock down period, of them maximum number of 72 appointments were made only in Faridabad district.
 
Suspecting large scale corruption in these appointments when  several complaints were received that such recruitments were not made on the basis of qualification and experience of candidates but jobs were sold by the concerned officers of the department. Surprisingly, the department not bothered  ro send report when Home Department in the state repeatedely raised question giving chance to the leaders of political parties in opposition for another sensational scam.
 
According to information Home Minister Anil Vij took a serious note on this suspected fraud and wrote to Home Secretary  Vijay Vardhan to look into the case seriously and take stern action against those violated government directions and offered jobs to those illegally for self-vested interests. However, Home Guard department in the state sent district wise report to Home Secretary. Vij talking to media persons said that corrupt officers in the state in this case will not be spared by him at any cost. He expressed surprise that 72 persons were illegally recruited in Faridabad district and such corrupt officers should specify under whose permission these recruitments were made. Information reveals, nearly 14000 home guards have to be recruited but during lock down period such recruitments were strictly banned and those violated directions will have to bear the consequences.
