3,5000 heart patients treated in five Cath Labs in Haryana in 18 months

Approximately 35000 heart patients have been checked in Cath Labs set up in
five civil hospitals at Ambala Cantt, Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurugram
and Agroha in Haryana state in past 18 months, in a press conference
at Ambala Cantt Dr Pratap Managing Director of Kerala based Meditrina
Company told that these Cath labs are being jointly organized by
Haryana state
government and their firm on PPD mode and have proved successful in
saving large number of heart patients. He said that earlier heart
patients were being referred to PGI for treatment and large number of
them were died on the way. Cath Labs are charging Rs 46000 for
installation of stunt in the heart as against amount being charged
between rs One to 1.5 lakh in private hospitals. The patients
belonging to backward classes and government employees are not being
charged in these Cath Labs and are teated free of cost, Dr Pratap
Said.
Information reveals that these Cath Labs have conducted ECO test of over 17000 heart patients,
TMT of over 3000 patients, Angiography of about 5000 patients and Angio Plastic Surgery
of about 3200 patients suffering from heart diseases in past 18 months
at much subsidized rates. Cabinet Health Minister Haryana Anil Vij
inaugurated Cath lab at the civil hospital Ambala Cantt.in November,
2018 attracting heart patients from across the state.
