ASSOCHAM expresses grief over Ratan Tata’s demise

New Delhi : ASSOCHAM today expressed grief over the demise of Mr Ratan Naval Tata, describing him as an iconic leader whose influence extended beyond Corporate India making him a global leader with immense goodwill. 

 “Mr Tata not only took a well-diversified Tata Group to several countries of the world but also immensely contributed to India’s brand equity on the global landscape across  sectors including information technology, automobile , steel and  hospitality. His life would be an inspiration for India’s entrepreneurs to think and go global, retaining an unblemished reputation and very high standard of corporate governance’‘, Deepak Sood Secretary General ASSOCHAM said.

Sood said, “one of the defining features of Mr Tata’s personality was his commitment to  build leadership across various businesses and companies, contributing to shareholders’ value and above all, interest of stakeholders including the society at large. ”He motivated and played pivotal role in incubating several startups who, in turn, are transforming business paradigm in critical areas of value chain”  

  “The world would also remember Mr Tata for his philanthropic contribution in critical sectors like health and education, setting standards for others”  The Tata Group is credited with building world class institutions in science and technology and  fundamental research .

Conveying condolences to the Tata family, the ASSOCHAM recalled association of Mr Tata with the apex chamber, whose 104 years’ lineage has shared eventful times of the nation – building  with that of the Tata Group.
