Attack on the patient in Ambala civil hospital emergency dies on way to PGI

Murder took place place in Ambala Cantt civil hospital in broad daylight on Wednesday, where a patient identified as Amrik Singh an auto driver a resident of village Shahpur adjoining Ambala Cantt arrived for treatment after he was hit by bricks and stones by a couple of persons of his village due to personal rivalry. Amrik was rushed to the hospital for treatment and was chased. The accused stabbed Amrik several times on his neck and stomach with a knife when he was having treatment at the emergency where blood spread all over and hospital staff managed to escape in the emergency ward.

According to police, Amrik Singh was leaving the village with his children when suddenly some youths of the village attacked him. When he went to the police to complain about this, the police asked him to get a medical checkup done. On this Amrik Singh went to the civil hospital to get a medical checkup done and the attackers also followed him to the civil hospital and attacked him in the emergency ward. The accused stabbed Amrik several times in the neck and stomach. The injured’s wife said in a statement to police that they were going from the village to purchase a T-shirt for their daughter for participating in a dance show in the school when they were attacked with bricks, later some youths of the village attacked them in the hospital itself.  DSP Ambala Cantt said that he had received information and reached the civil hospital where the victim Amrik Singh was referred to Chandigarh for the treatment after first aid, but reportedly died on the way. He said, every fact in this case is being investigated and the killers will be arrested soon.
