Azadi ki pehli ladai ka ‘Shaheed Smarak’ based on the First War of Independence:  Anil Vij

The civil work is nearly 90% complete

Ambala:  Haryana’s former Home Minister and MLA of Ambala Cantonment, Anil Vij said that an international-level Smarak is being constructed to pay tribute to the martyrs of the First War of Independence in 1857. The civil work of the Smarak is about 90% complete, and the art work is currently underway. He mentioned that this Smarak will depict the First War of Independence from beginning to end. Vij inspected the Smarak based on the First War of Independence in Ambala on Monday. During this visit, he held a review meeting regarding the ongoing construction works and inspected the progress. He directed the concerned contractor and the PWD to expedite the work and complete this project by August month. Dr. Kuldeep Saini, the director of the Shaheed Smarak was also present at the meeting.

After the meeting, former Home Minister and MLA of Ambala Cantonment, Anil Vij stated that the international-level smarak will depict the First War of Independence from beginning to end, featuring figures like Rani of Jhansi, Tatya Tope and Haryana’s martyr Rao Tula Ram. The First War of Independence also began from Ambala Cantonment and this smarak is being constructed. Former Home Minister Anil Vij said, “I am holding regular meetings regarding the construction of the smarak. We aim to complete it by August. Continuous instructions are being given to the relevant departments and the contractor. A committee of top historians from India has been formed to provide historical facts related to this. An open-air theater with a capacity of 2,000 people is being built where a film based on the 1857 revolution will be shown.”

Anil Vij inspected the construction work of the Shaheed Smarak and gave directions to the officials. He instructed the early completion of the parking area construction, the speedy allotment of the food court in the Smarak and took stock of the progress. Present at the meeting were PWD Superintendent Engineer Navneet Nain, Executive Engineer Ritesh Agarwal, Electrical SDO Sukhdev Singh, PWD JE Ashwani, Contractor Abhimanyu Gupta, Designer Consultant Ritika and other officials.
