BBMB volunteering services for the Nation’s fight against COVID-19

Chandigarh: BBMB is volunteering its services for the Nation’s fight against Corona Virus (COVID-19) during three weeks nationwide lockdown. BBMB is not only providing hospital facilities and ambulances but also helping poor people by providing them groceries and food. BBMB is also helping local administration in sanitizing the townships at Nangal, Talwara and Sundernagar by providing men and machineries.
BBMB has established flu zones at its hospitals at Nangal, Sundernagar and Talwara which are well equipped to tackle emergencies. Seventy percent of the hospital beds have been prepared ready to cater to any extraordinary circumstances. Isolation wards equipped with oxygen cylinders, N95 masks, protection kits, infrared thermometer, hand sanitisers, and Emergency Drugs etc. have been established at all the project stations of BBMB. Some of the vacant houses in BBMB townships have been converted into isolation rooms for quarantine purpose. Hospital areas are being completely sanitised on regular basis. Ambulances are available at all project station of BBMB to facilitate every citizen.
Chief Engineer in-charge of each project station has been assigned the responsibility to tackle any emergent situation emerging out of COVID-19. Sufficient funds are being made available to tackle any emergency on account of COVID-19. Retirement of doctors and para medical staff has been extended up to 30.9.2020, as one time measure on the pattern of Department of health and Family Welfare, Punjab.
