Bengaluru : The 27th edition of the Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2024, inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru, brought together the world’s leading innovators, policymakers, and entrepreneurs under the theme ‘Tech Unbound.’ Jointly organized by the Department of Electronics, IT, and BT of the Karnataka Government and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the summit underscored Bengaluru’s role as a global technology hub.

CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated the summit alongside a tech exhibition that showcased cutting-edge innovations. Adding a futuristic touch to the ceremony, the iconic ‘BTS Flying Man’ from Gravity Industries enthralled attendees with a jet suit demonstration as the CM cut the ribbon, symbolizing Bengaluru’s leap into the future of technology.
In his keynote address, the CM highlighted Bengaluru’s unparalleled legacy of innovation, stating:

Honoring Excellence in Technology
The Karnataka Government felicitated Sriharsha Majety, CEO and Co-Founder of Swiggy, for his outstanding contributions to India’s startup ecosystem. Additionally, Texas Instruments India was honored for its remarkable 40-year legacy in Bengaluru, with Managing Director Santosh Kumar receiving the award on behalf of the organization.
Key Announcements
Several transformative initiatives were unveiled during the summit:
- Launch of the Bengaluru Data Report: This comprehensive report highlighted the city’s growth as a global technology and data hub.
- Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence: Aiming to make Bengaluru a global leader in AI research and development, the Karnataka Government announced the establishment of this premier center. Spearheaded by the IIT Alumni Centre Bengaluru (IITACB) in collaboration with the state, the center will accelerate the growth of AI startups in India.
Global Perspectives
Dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge, and Dr. Anna Christmann, Commissioner for Startups at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, emphasized the summit’s pivotal role in addressing global challenges through technology. Alexandra Dublanche, Vice President for Economic Recovery and Development, France, commended Karnataka’s efforts in fostering global innovation partnerships.
