Bharat Bandh  : Mixed response to call given by farmers

Amritsar, February 16 – Bharat Bandh given by the farmers outfit, a mixed response was noticed as private bus and Punjab Roadways operators were completely observing the call.    Auto service in the district also affected partially.

However, majority of the Educational institutions run by the Sikh Orgnaistions i.e. SGPC and Chief Khalsa Dewan had already announced to keep off in the schools and colleges. Even SGPC has also shut down their offices    to extend support to the Band call of farmers.

Showrooms of luxury cars, two wheelers, shopping Malls, eating joints, majority of the fuel stations were also shut.

Punjab Government buses (PUNBUS and Punjab Roadways) employees have also extended full support to the Bharat Bandh call  as their buses   are not running on roads.

The Hall Bazar (Gandhi Gate) the busiest  and crowded business market today also wore a deserted look as complete bandh was seen there. Whereas Putlighar area and markets located inside the colonies didn’t bother about the bandh call as they are running their business as usual.  All the luxury hotels and showrooms in the city have also shut down their main entry gates. Bandh around the Golden Temple was also seen.
