MUMBAI: Manav is best remembered for his performance as the cunning Bittu in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che and ‘Vishnu sir’ in Hansal Mehta’s City Lights , in which he played a small-town man corrupted by a ruthless city.

In Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s home production Wazir , he again plays a character with grey shades. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. Manav cannot stop heaping praises on Amitabh in particular.

“Even after being in the industry for as long as he has, it’s amazing that he still rehearses. He yearns for perfection, and

doesn’t like to waste anyone’s time. His dedication towards work is inspirational,” he says. About Farhan, he says, “He is a down-to-earth person, and an absolute delight to work with. In fact, most of my scenes are with Farhan. He’s truly a director’s actor and gave me plenty of acting tips.” The film, directed by Bejoy Nambiar, will hit the screens this month. Manav’s next will be Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal alongside Priyanka Chopra, expected to release in March. –PTI
