State Vigilance Bureau has written to higher authorities in the state seeking permission to take action against and arrest of senior bureaucrats including in the ranks of IAS and HPS allegedly involved in Rs 200 crore recent fraud in the office of Municipal Corporation Faridabad detected by vigilance team during investigation in the case in which police has already arrested two persons registering case against Raman Sharma Chief Engineer and Deepak a Junior Engineer both were arrested produced in the court and remanded to police remand for three days.
According to vigilance department officers, the involvement of few other senior officers has been suspected in this fraud and a letter has been written to higher authorities in the state seeking permission to take action against such bureaucrats also involved in this fraud. Investigation by state vigilance department team revealed that payments worth crores of rupees were released to the contractor as well as suppliers by the Municipal Corporation officers on the basis of fake bills without work done or goods received by municipal corporation having no fear of consequences in this regard.
The issue was strongly raised in Vidhan Sabha session by Neeraj Sharma NIT Faridabad Congress MLA supported by other MLAs from different political parties in opposition in Vidhan Sabha raising a question over increasing corruption cases in government offices all over in the state and also referred nearly half dozen corruption cases in which embezzlements of funds was reported in construction of government building by PWD (B&R) department officers released amount worth rupees hundreds crores on the basis of fake bills and ruling BJP-JJP government took no stern action for recovery of amount from alleged accused except their services suspended as such all these projects are lying incomplete half way causing huge loss to the state government. MLAs from political parties in opposition in Vidhan Sabha accuse ruling BJP-JJP government in the state taking no stern action against the accused involved in corrupt practices except related files are moving from one table to another and situation turning bad to worst.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter unable to face opposition in Vidhan Sabha took matter seriously and directed State Vigilance Bureau to investigate all such alleged fraud cases thoroughly and those involved in embezzlements of funds in government offices in the state should be pushed behind bars and amount suffered by the government should be recovered from them, when two officers of Municipal Corporation Faridabad including Chief Engineer were arrested by State Vigilance Bureau suspecting several other senior officers, too, involved in the scam and likely to be in vigilance net if permitted by the government. According to information, people in the state as well as political leaders in opposition are looking forward to action taken by ruling BJP-JJP government in the state to wipe out increasing corruption in government offices.
