Big fishes suspected involved in 225 kg rice & 6500 kg wheat scam in Haryana

Senior IPS officer ShrikantJaghav ADGP Ambala police range  has constituted three members Special Investigation Team (STI)  led by police officers of ASP and DSP rank to investigate over Rs 9.37 lakh fraud in which 225 quital rice and 6500 kg wheat sent from Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown at village Dukheri near Ambala was sent to ChanderPura in Maharashtra state in a sealed bogie of a goods train from AmbalaCantt railway station by HAFED for supply to families below poverty line under various government schemes, which was found short when reached destination in-spite of the fact seal on the bogie in which it was kept was found intact.

A team of three officers was sent to ChanderPura in Maharashtra to investigate the matter which confirmed that the stocks of food grains supplied from FCI godown, Dukheri were found short and the material was removed from the bags and to fill up the gap of short supply water was sprinkled on the bags in order to increase the weight since large number of bags were found wet.  HAFED Managing Director A. Sriniwas lodged a complaint with Parao Police Station AmbalaCantt suspecting fraud and  FCI also suspended store keeper of their godown with immediate effect, whereas involvement of senior officers as well as a rice miller is also suspected in this fraud. Sources reveal that big fishes involved in this fraud have now started efforts to save their skin.

Preliminary investigation on the order of AmitBhushan General Manager FCI told that food grains kept in FCI godownDukheri  were dispatched to Bihar, Utter Pradesh, Gujarat and Assam for supply to weaker section families in these states under various government welfare schemes and a three members committee sent to ChanderPur in Maharashtra to investigate the matter submitted their report on 11th December, 2022 confirming that rice was stolen from the bags kept in FCI godown and water was sprinkled on the bags in order to increase the weight of food grains in these bags mixed with fortified rice stocks under a planned conspiracy. When matter related to the shortage of huge quantity of rice and wheat stocks in bags exposed to FCI officers at Ambala, Karnal and Chandigharh they tried to dump this issue which had already attracted headlines in newspapers.  ShrikantJaghav ADGP Ambala police range told that SIT has been directed to investigate this case thoroughly and those involved in this scam even not spared families unable to get both end meals will not be spared at any cost.
