Tarun Chug, national general secretary of the BJP, said on Saturday that his organisation has transformed Kashmir from a centre of terrorism into a tourist destination.
The BJP, he continued, “won’t let the Abdullahs, Muftis, and Gandhis take Kashmir back to the 1990s.”
“The BJP turned J&K from a hub of terrorism into a tourist destination,” Chugh, told a news conference in Srinagar. “This year, millions of visitors visited Kashmir. In J&K, vikas (progress) is happening in all areas.”
New Delhi, according to the BJP leader, was making every effort to bring prosperity, peace, and development to Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP leader reaffirmed that elections would soon be held in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We hope Assembly polls will be held soon,” he said adding that the polls might be held by May of the following year. “The Election Commission has already started the preparations.”
