Ambala: Addressing a press conference at Panchayat Bhawan Ambala City, Haryana state Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Gurnam Singh Chaduni announced to contest coming assembly elections on all 90 seats in Haryana under the banner of ‘Sanyukt Sanghursh Party’ either independently or in alliance with any other political party, except Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Janhit Janta Party (JJP). He said, as usually seen, that the present politics is based not upon ethics or welfare issues but on the basis of financial strength of a person. Chaduni said, ‘Sanyukt Sanghursh Party’ was constituted and registered by BKU during previous elections in Punjab, but remained inactive due to lack of support by few farmers groups in Punjab as a result he lost polls.
On a media question that on how many assembly seats his party is going to contest in coming Haryana Vidhan Sabha polls, Chaduni replies that the party may contest polls either in alliance with some other political party or independently on all assembly seats in the state having alliance with any other political party except BJP and may join hands with Congress. Chaduni said, his party as well as himself believe in fair politics working for the welfare of farmers, labourers, daily wagers, small scale traders, unemployds and those below poverty line in the state.
In reply to another question, Chaduni said that he could not do well while contesting polls in Punjab, but he has not lost confidence and believes that a fresh player may become a champion one day. When questioned about farmers’ protest at Shambhu border, Chaduni refused to say anything in this regard and said that he was not invited during talks between the protesting farmers and the government. Chaduni said the poll manifesto of ‘Sanyukt Sangharsh Party’ has already been prepared and in case party comes to the power assures to provide 300 yards plot or a two room house to every family below the poverty line, Rs 8000 monthly pension to old-age persons, Rs 12000 per acre financial aid to the farmers for cultivating their agriculture land, Rs 500 monthly allowance to unemployed youths and Rs 5000 grant to poors to start business and make them self-employed.
