Brand Ambassador Former Cricketer Kapil Dev  with Novo Nordisk  “100th Global Anniversary  celebration” Bengaluru

Bengaluru : Novo Nordisk in India marked the company’s “100th  Global  anniversary” in a grand  event  with large number of their employees present on occasion  and reaffirmed  company’s commitment to providing care for people with  Diabetes, haemophilia, and other chronic diseases  through its ‘Driving Change   for Generations’ Campaign. On this occasion company also launched a digital employee community outreach portal aimed at encouraging employees to volunteer for community service and gie back to society. The event graced by diginitaries including its Brand Ambassador  former Indian cricketer  Kapil Dev, Ambassador  Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi , H E Freddy  Svane, Corporate Vice President and  MD, Nordisk Global Business Services John Dwber and Corporate VP  and MD  Novo Nordisk India,  Vikrant Shotriaya.

 Brand Ambassador Kapil Dev said, wishing Novo Nordisk on their 100th anniversary milestone, He said my fight against diabetes is  well-known and I am glad to have partnered with Novo Nordisk – an organisation that truly works to raise awareness and drive change in the lives of people living with diabetes and other chronic diseases . It is an honour to support various efforts taken up by the company that is shedding light on the need to educate people with chronic diseases their caregivers, and doctors about eh importance of taking active responsibility for living healthy lies’. He added.

After being diagnosed with diabetes, Kapil Dev cultivated self-discipline . “If I weren’t a diabetic, I would perhaps have been a wild person. I’d have ruined my body overeating and drinking. Discipline is crucial for a healthy and happy life, “he said during a fireside chat  with Vikrant Shrotriya  and John Dawber. Dev uses patches for monitoring and stabilising his blood sugar, “ Thanks to advances in medicine, I am able to live a normal  life”  he said. The patches deliver insulin automatically as the sugar level goes up in the body and can be used instead of insulin jabs.  “Knowledge is power. Now I know more about my body and how it works “ , he added.
