BSF seized 15.5 kilogram drug consignment smuggled to India from Pakistan through aerial transportation

Amritsar, May 17 – Border Security Force have seized heroin (drug) which was smuggled to India from Pakistan through aerial transportation.

In a statement issued here today, BSF official stated that on  the intervening night of 17th/18th May 2023, on specific information, BSF Party was deployed in the depth area of Village – Ramkot, District – Amritsar. At about 0043 hours, BSF troops heard a mild buzzing sound of drone and dropping of something in the farming fields at the outskirts of Village – Ramkot.

Troops tried to intercept the drone by firing in the direction of sound, said the official adding that on reaching near the farming field, BSF troops saw three persons running away with the consignment. The troops immediately challenged the miscreants and fired towards them, who managed to escape taking advantage of darkness, leaving one big consignment containing five Packets of heroin was recovered.

Again, at about 0120 hrs, BSF party heard the same mild buzzing sound of a drone and dropping of consignment in the nearby fields. During the search, 01 big consignment containing 05 packets of heroin, with luminous strips, was recovered.

The total amount of heroin recovered is 10 packets having gross weight  15.5 Kgs, informed BSF official.
