In view of increasing complaints as regard supply of adulterated milk, milk products and sale of restricted medicines as well as illegal supply of medical termination pregnancy (MTP) kits, Haryana state government has launched a campaign against milk dairies and medical stores initially in 13 districts in the state by Chief Minister Flying Squad as well as by food supply and state drug control departments. According to CID chief Alok Kumar Mittal, nearly 20000 litre adulterated milk seized during raids by teams along with mobile labs was destroyed at the spot in four districts in a day.

The raiding teams accompanied by Sandeep Kadian of health department collected milk samples from a vehicle containing 32 drums arrived from U.P when parked outside a milk supply depot on Kunjpura Road at Karnal and sent collected samples to forensic laboratory Madhuban for testing. CM Flying Squad also collected samples of milk products during raid in a factory at Kaithal and seized 200 kg cheese and 120 kg pure ghee collecting samples for testing at Madhuban forensic laboratory. CM Flying Squad raided a milk plant at Hansi and collected milk samples from a van parked outside the plant as well as 5000 litre milk kept in a steel tank inside the plant. The team also collected samples from 10500 litre pure ghee lying ready in the stock.  The raiding teams conducted raids at three milk dairies at Bhiwani, four milk dairies at Kurukshetra, four milk sale shops at Yamunanagar and few sweets shops at Jagadhri and collected samples.

Meanwhile, State Drugs Control & Licensing Authority teams also launched campaign against illegal sale of medical termination pregnancy (MTP) kits and supply of restricted medicines consumed by drug addicts by wholesale and retail medical stores, which included four at Gurugram, two at Karnal and one each at Ambala and Bhiwani cancelled licenses of eight suppliers and suspended licenses of another 46 medical stores in the state. The team members posing as customer contacted such traders and trapped them in their net.

According to information by State Drug Control Department the licenses of 46 drug stores involved in sale of restricted medicines in 13 districts were suspended during raids which included three in Panchkula, 10 in Karnal district, three in Kurukshetra, one in Jind, four each at Panipat, Sonepat, Gurugram, Nuh and Faridabad, six in Rewai,  two in Bhiwani and three in Sirsa. Information reveals, there is possibility of few medical stores involved in illegal activities may be sealed the state Drug Control department in the state.
