Centre to blame for dropping of murder charges against Sajjan Kumar: Sukhbir Singh Badal

Amritsar : Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal blamed the  centre for “the poor and non-serious handling by the prosecution which led to the dropping of the murder charge against Sajjan Kumar, one of the key alleged culprits of  the 1984 genocide of  Sikhs in 1984.

“The prosecution is clearly to blame for the dropping of section 302 of the IPC against Sajjan Kumar. This rubs further salt into Sikh wounds and deepen the community’s loss of faith in the system’s ability and will to deliver justice,” said Badal in a statement issued today.

“The whole world knows that Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler and several other top Congress leaders have their hands drenched in the blood of innocent Sikhs. But successive governments in Delhi have given them reprieve after reprieve,” said Sukhbir Badal.

He said however the SAD will continue to lead the Khalsa Panth fight against injustice and will not rest until the killers are hanged.

The SAD president came down against Bhagwant Mann for “letting loose a wave of repression on Sikhs in Punjab with a witch hunt against farmers, a majority of whom are Sikhs.

Badal extended his best wishes to scientists for soft landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon. “Every hard working Indian, including farmers, working classes, employees and housewives have contributed directly and indirectly to the country’s progress to this stage. While scientists deserve special credit, we must acknowledge the contribution of all Indians to this venture,” he said.
