CM Flying Squad in Haryana state on the complaints that fake, pirated NCERT books are being sold by the publishers as well as few schools across the state and started conducting raids at various towns including Rohtak, Jhajjar, Hisar, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram and Faridabad and during raid recovered large number of fake NCERT text books and registered cases against 12 book sellers under piracy Act as per sections 63 and, 420 of IPC. Talking to media persons CID Chief Alok Mittal said that recently CM Flying Squad team led by Gorakhpur Rana DSP conducted raids at two book stores at Tohana and seized 1500 books and the owners of both book stores were arrested and sent to jail. Meanwhile State education minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar has warned that the educational schools encouraging sale of fake NCERT books, school uniform and stationery products at much higher than the price of NCERT books for their self vested interest putting additional financial burden on parents will not be spared and have to face strict action against them, and the state education department Haryana will not hesitate even to cancel their registration.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Kumar said a raid was conducted following complaints that certain shops are selling fake NCERT books at a price nearly three times higher than the prescribed rates by the Abhibhwak Ekta Manch, a parents body at Ballabhgarh causing irregularities in the sale of books, stationery and school uniform in alliance with certain schools when the CM Flying Squadraiding team comprising the Sub-inspector of the CM’s flying squad along with the Block Education Officer, Ballabhgarh found that some of the books neither had the NCERT logo nor the watermark and the team seized 24 such books to check for their authenticity. ACP told that a case will be registered against the shop owner and other accused, if any, if the complaint is found to be true.
