Amritsar. January 9 -The Commissionerate Police, Amritsar busted a Drug smuggling cartel with the arrest of one person after recovering 1.5 kg Heroin, 03 Lakh Drug Money, from his possession.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has identified the arrested drug smuggler as Harpreet Singh resident Village Rama, Police Station Bhadhani, District Moga, age 36 years, 10th Class pass & work as Combine Driver.
Bhullar said that following reliable inputs that arrested accused has received a consignment from a unknown person in area of Mochi Bazar, Police teams from Police Station E-Division under supervision of DCP Investigation, Harpreet Mandher, ADCP CITY-1 Mehtab Singh IPS and ACP Central Surinder Singh conducted a special operation based on secret information and arrested the accused person when he received Consignment of Heroin from unknown person.
He said that as per preliminary investigations, he has received the heroin from a unknown person at the direction of Mandeep Singh, a resident of his own village Rama, District Moga Now USA
CP Bhullar said that further investigations are being conducted to probe the backward and forward linkages and unearth the whole network of drug suppliers, dealers and their buyers. Efforts are being made to ascertain the total amount of narcotics procured by the arrested accused till date, he added.
A case FIR no. 02 dated 08.01.2024 has been registered under sections 21(C),29/61/85 NDPS Act at Police Station E Division, Amritsar.
