Congress demands answer from govt on Jack Dorsey’s claim on facing pressure

New Delhi-; Congress party today slammed BJP government over remarks made by Former Twitter CEO jack Dorsey. The party chairperson of Social Media and digital platforms Supriya Srinate today attacked the Narendra Modi Government over the claims made by Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey that they had pressures from India on several issues including the major farmer’s protest. This is “Murder Of Democracy”…Govt should stop suppressing the social media she said. The Congress now demand answers from the Modi govt over these claims.

At a press conference in Delhi Surpiya said “’ Opposition voices are also suppressed by the government.” Now truth has come out from Dorsey’s statement and we need answers. There cannot be any bigger proof of the weakening of democracy in the country. Senior Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and  Surjewala have also tweeted against BJP calling it a cowardly act, and have demand answers from the Prime Minister over these allegations.

If they did so they would be shut down” These are the allegations made by Jack Dorsey in an interview to a Youtube show “ Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar’. “ India had many requests of us around the farmers protest, around journalists who were critical of the Govt and manifested in ways such as we were shut down in India, which is a very large market for us, homes of our employees will be raided, our offices will be shut if we don’t follow this is India” Dorsey said.

 Citing an example of how recently a Union Minister threatened a journalist in Amethi who lost his job after it. Supriya said Intimidation of media, journalists and social media platforms should stop immediately.
