New Delhi:  The Congress has insulted the entire Sikh community by making 1984 Sikh murderer Jagdish Tytler a member of the Election Committee for MCD polls, said BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Friday.

The Congress on Thursday constituted various panels for the upcoming elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) with its pradesh election committee including the likes of state unit chief Anil Chaudhary, Ajay Maken, Sandeep Dikshit and Tytler. While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ his party is “sheltering and promoting the murderer of Sikhs”, Sirsa alleged in a press conference at the BJP’s Delhi unit office.

Sirsa said that what is the compulsion with the Congress that it could not expel the main killers of the 84 riots from the party even after the High Court’s remarks. On the one hand, the Modi government is working to punish the murderers involved in the 84 riots, while on the other hand, the Congress is working to give shelter to those murderers in its party. He said that Jagdish Tytler is such a person who not only got the Sikhs killed by standing in front but also tortured the witnesses who were ready to speak against him.

He said that on one hand Rahul Gandhi is running a nation-wide campaign but on the other hand he is embracing the murderers. After Mallikarjun Kharge became the President, it seemed that perhaps the mood of the Congress would change but the murderers are still being protected under the pressure of the Gandhi family, which is a matter of humiliation for the Sikh society. He said that AAP  chief Arvind Kejriwal, who won 92 seats in Punjab with the support of Sikhs, is also silent today, who had taken a vow to punish the murderers of 84, but today he has forgotten it like other promises.
