New Delhi : To increase its vote bank, Congress is starting the in-depth work of increasing awareness among the children about the contribution of Nehru and Congress at the time of independence of the country through “Nehru Bal Manch”. The Modi government is erasing many things from the pages of history textbooks. It is alleged that they want to forget Nehru’s role in the building of the country. That’s why Congress has taken initiative to make school going students aware about the contribution of Congress in the independence of the country, role of Gandhi-Nehru family, features of democratic India, constitution, society etc. The Congress high command has directed to reactivate their own organization ‘Nehru Bal Manch’ to increase awareness among children in the age group of 7-18 years. Recently ‘Nehru Bal Manch’ has been brought under the AICC umbrella. That’s why Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wants to strengthen the Youth and Mahila Congress wings along with this Nehru Manch. Through this platform, without giving direct political education, the youth will be given information about patriotism, history of Congress, India’s heritage. But it goes without saying that the real objective is to get the potential voters interested in the Congress.
According to AICC sources, on the instructions of the Congress President, General Secretary of the organization K C Venugopal along with West Bengal Pradesh Congress President & Leader of the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, has written a letter to the top leadership of all the states President. It has been said that responsibility should be given to a specific person from among the secretaries of the State Congress for this program, who should take the initiative to provide such education to the children through this Nehru Manch. The report of this kind of educational work going on in any state will also have to be sent its report to the Congress High Command in Delhi at regular headquarter intervals. The age-old party is starting to work in the grass-root towards increasing interest in Congress not only among adults but also among the women and school students.
