Mumbai: Coromandel International, India’s leading agri-solutions provider, announced its support to the Prime Minister’s “Namo Drone Didi” Scheme by providing 200 drones to women from Self-Help Groups in modernizing farming.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an event organized recently by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers across 11 locations in the country, had virtually handed over 1,000 drones – including 200 drones supplied by Coromandel International. The Government, through this scheme, aims to help 15,000 women-led SHGs with agricultural drones for crop monitoring, spraying fertilisers and crop protection chemicals.
Besides supplying the drones, Coromandel International also trained the local woman pilots to operate these drones in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
Arun Alagappan, Executive Vice-Chairman, Coromandel International Limited, said that these drones encompass a wide range of cutting edge solutions to meet farmers’ needs including: anti-collision sensors, RTL feature for safe landing and high-quality nozzles covering upto 30 acres of spraying per day.

The Company clocked a turnover of Rs 29,799 crores during FY22-23 with its efforts being recognized by the UNDP and TERI. Coromandel is part of the Rs 742 billion (Rs 74,220 crores) Murugappa Group – a 123-year-old conglomerate present in India and globally.
