Corona Terror: 6000 prisoners in Haryana jail to be released on parole

In view of corona virus spreading in the country, prisoners locked in jails in Haryana are in the state of panic. On Supreme Court of India directions Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered release of prisoners having clean background in jails as such Haryana state government has decided to release 6000 prisoners on parole including 3000 each undergoing imprisonment in jails and those under trial in the cases in courts.

The decision was taken in a meeting at Chandigarh through video conference between Justice Rajiv Sharma, Vijay Wardhan Additional Chief Secretary and K. Selavraj Director General Police (Jails) Haryana. DGP (Jails) told media persons that new prisoners lodged in the jails are being kept in a separate cell in a separate cell in jails till their thorough medical check up of health completed under medical observation for a week.
