Information reveals, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is also investigating whether their names are in the list of those tainted revenue officers who are involved in the registry scam. On the report of the Special Investigation Committee constituted to investigate the registry scam that took place during the Corona period, the government had held 232 revenue officers, including kanungos, auditors, registry clerks and patwaris, besides 34 tehsildars and naib tehsildars, found guilty of manipulating the revenue records.
After action against patwaris, the government is considering re-examining the files and other records like CM window, pending complaints, source reports given by Anti Corruption Bureau and other internal vigilance agencies to identify corrupt revenue officials. At the same time, the government’s investigation is going on in the matter of the leaked list of 370 corrupt Patwaris. The CID is scrutinizing the inputs received from the districts and there is a possibility that the list issued by the Revenue Department to the DCs of the districts has been leaked from the district headquarters itself.
