Custom officials seized 490 grams of raw gold and 57 iphones having market value of Rs. 94.83 lacs

Amritsar, August 16 – Custom officials have seized 490 grams of raw gold and 57 iphones from the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport from two different passengers who landed here from Sharjah by 6E1428 flight.

In a statement issued here today, Custom official informed that two passengers coming from Sharjah by Indigo flight 6E1428 in the evening of 15.08.2023 were intercepted.  On their personal search, one passenger  was found to be carrying 245 grams of raw gold chain and ring, 18 iphones 14 pro and 11 iphones 13 pro.  The other pax was found to be carrying 245 grams of raw gold chain and ring alongwith 17 iphones 14 pro and 11 iphones 13 pro. Thus a total of 490 grams of gold and 57 iPhones having market value of Rs. 94.83 lacs  were seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962. Further investigation is under process.
