Cyber criminals cheating people making fake videos-audio calls on mobile phone: DGP Haryana

Talking to media persons, DGP Haryana Shatrujit Kapoor said, increasing cyber crimes in the state is one of the major problem for police in the state, and police in the state has expanded  its activities to curb such crimes and has increased strength of cyber police stations in the state, was able to save victim’s hard-earned money worth Rs 162 crore with the help of NCR portal, cyber helpline 1930 and Nodal officers appointed by as many as 10 major banks all working with cyber police in the state on a platform. DGP Kapoor disclosed that hundreds of cheating cases are being registered daily in cyber police stations across Haryana state’ which include the maximum number of cases reported in Mewat state, which have close links with cyber criminal groups in other states  including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Tamilnadu.

Information reveals, in the past sometime 1,18500 mobile phone sims have been blocked and 2.09,568 bank accounts based upon fake documents have been closed down in the state which included the maximum number from Nuh district. DGP warned avoid to receive telephone call having foreign numbers, or disclose link of your bank account number since large number of cyber criminals in Pakistan, Cambodia and Srilanka are trying to trap innocent people in the country to trap in their net and rob their hard-earned money by offering attractive offers, gift schemes, easy loan, attractive incentives on investment, part-time jobs, facebook friendship on face book and video calls, followed by threatening, black-mailing to release their nude videos prepared by them on Watts up on social media or threatening to involve them in murder and cheating cases posing as police or a CBI officer.
