Chandigarh, Februry 8 2024: Despite the order of Punjab-Haryana High Court to stay the strike, the Joint Action Committee of PGI Contract Workers Union has decided to go on strike on 16th February. After the meeting on Wednesday, the union informed to PGI Director Prof.Vivek Lal. ChairmanAshwiniMunjalsays that the PGI management has misled the court by cheating the employees.

Union officials said that there is a continuous struggle to implement the government gazette, in which equal pay for equal work is being demanded for the contract workers. Apart from this, there was a demand for permanent employment of contract workers, medical facilities and opening of 24-hour canteen for them.
