New Deslhi : Dhirendra Ojha has been appointed as the Chief Spokesperson of the Central Government. He was made Principal DG of Press Information Bureau (PIB) under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Shefali Sharan was removed. Shefali was appointed Principal DG of PIB on April 1 last. But there was a controversy about his seniority. He was not made PDB PDG despite being an officer senior to him. 

Therefore, the debate within the ministry on the matter continued to grow. So Shefali Sharan was removed within three months before the agitation among government officials. From the post of Principal DG, she was sent to a relatively lower position. She has been send as the DG of the Government Publication Department.

On the other hand, Dhirendra Ojha was brought from the post of DG CBC (Central Bureau of Communication) to the post of Principal Director General of PIB. YK Baweza has been appointed as Director General of CBC. Note that before CBC, the name was DAVP (Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity).
