Divisional Forest Officer arrested while taking Rs 3 lakh bribe

Rohtak : Joint teams of CM Flying Squad Haryana and Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Rohtak during a raid arrested Dadri Forest Mandi Department Divisional Forest Officer Dalip Kumar Singh red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from a forest contractor Sandeep Kumar whose firm was blacklisted by the department earlier. ACB DSP Sumit Kumar told media persons that Dalip Singh had assured the contractor that blacklisting of his firm in 2021-22 may be withdrawn in case amount worth Rs 3 lakh paid him. The contractor also informed the Anti Corruption bureau, which further reported the same to CM Flying Squad also when both teams joined hands during the raid.

The teams  arrested the Forest Officer while recovering bundles of Rs 500-500 notes from the cupboard at his Dadri government residence. Contractor Sandeep Kumar, resident of Charkhi Dadri, besides getting the outstanding payment released by DFO Dalip Singh on the toll free number of Anti Corruption In other cases, a complaint was lodged for demanding a bribe of Rs 3 lakh by the DFO. On the basis of the complaint, in the presence of Duty Magistrate Rohit Kumar, Executive Engineer, Public Health Department Rohtak when the raid was conducted.

The team sent the complainant to DFO Dalip Singh with 6 packets of Rs 500 each who had called him at his residence and took the money. As soon as the signal was received, the joint raiding teams arrived, caught the DFO at his residence and recovered the entire amount of Rs 3 lakh from the bedroom cupboard. DSP Sandeep Singh of CM Flying Squad and DSP Sumit Kumar of Anti Corruption Bureau jointly told that Sandeep Kumar, contractor had complained that DFO Dalip Singh had asked him to release the outstanding payment, get it removed from the blacklist and get the FIR registered against him would be cancelled, and a bribe of Rs 3 lakh was demanded in return. On the basis of the complaint, the team paid money and sent the complainant to the officer in a planned conspiracy.
