Doctor involved in pre-natal sex examination arrested

Ambala (SATISH HANDA): Health Department Ambala team led by Deputy CMO Balvinder Kaur conducted a raid at Ratan Multi-speciality Hosital at Ludhiana in Punjab during night at around 7.30 pm and caught doctor red-handed while checking pre-natal sex of child of a pregnant woman from Ambala City on ultrasound machine. Raiding team accompanied by police and health department team from Punjab arrested the doctor and two female staff members of the hospital and recovered Rs 9000 currency notes from the doctor, whereas a staff nurse managed to escape along with Rs 31000.

Dr Kuldeep Singh CMO Ambala on getting an information that large number of pregnant women from Ambala are often visiting this hospital for pre-natal check up of sex of child in their womb, talked to Ahok Kumar Deputy Commissioner Ambala after fixing the proposal with pregnant women who talked to Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana to deploy police force to assist health department team from Ambala. Information reveals, the deal to check pre-natal sex of child was fixed for Rs 40000 and raid was conducted when doctor congratulated pregnant woman that she was carrying male child after ultrasound test. Ludhaina police registered a case under PNDT Act against the hospital at around 11 PM

Information revealed that earlier on the complaint of health department Ambala, a similar case was registered against this hospital during raid on April 11, 2017 and the license of this hospital also temporarily cancelled by Punjab government.
