*One packet of drug seized at border district Gurdaspur
Amritsar : January 25 – In a joint search operation of Punjab police and Border security Force succeeded to recover a drone at indo-Pak border village here today.
In a statement issued by BSF stated that on 25th January, during afternoon hours, on specific information from BSF regarding presence of a drone, an extensive joint search operation was launched by BSF and Punjab Police on the outskirts of the Village Dal in District Tarn Taran.
During the search operation at about 13:15 pm, party successfully recovered one small drone in broken condition. This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to Village Dal in District Tarn Taran.
BSF official said that the retrieved drone is a Quadcopter (Model – DJI Mavic 3 Classic, made in China). Official further said that diligent efforts and reliable intelligence network of BSF made yet another recovery jointly with Punjab Police of a Pakistani drone engaged in spreading narco menace.
However in a separate incident, BSF succeeded in seizing well packed laminated one packet heroin (drug) in Gurdaspur border district.
BSF said that on the intervening night of 24-25th January 4, BSF troops intercepted a drone movement in Gurdaspur District. Following the laid-down protocol, BSF troops tried to intercept the drone by fire and immediately launched a search operation.
Furthermore, during the search operation at about 08:40 am, the party successfully recovered one packet containing heroin (gross weight – approximately 531 grams) along with a green-coloured mini torch. The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape. This recovery took place in the farming field adjacent to Thatharke village in Gurdaspur District.
