Drone shot down in Amritsar sector

BSF seized drug, drone, arms and ammunition from different locations of Punjab border

Amritsar, March 28 – Border Security Force ( BSF) troops have seized heroin (drug), drone, arms and ammunition at different locations of Punjab border.

In an official statement issued here today, stated that  on 27th March at about 0820 PM, BSF troops deployed at the border, heard buzzing sound of a suspected flying object (drone) entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area near Village – Hardo Rattan in District – Amritsar. As per the laid down drill troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone by firing. During subsequent search of the area, after the first light, BSF troops recovered 02 packets of Heroin (Gross weight  02 Kg), from the wheat field of Village – Hardo Rattan, Distt – Amritsar.

BSF official further informed that in another seizure wherein two suspects were apprehended.  He said that at Village – Bachiwind in District – Amritsar BSF  noticed drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory. By the time troops arrived on the spot the drone escaped away. During search of the area, BSF troops recovered three packets of Heroin (Gross weight 03 Kg), contained inside a polyester bag from the wheat field and 02 person were apprehended in depth area near Village – Bachiwind, Distt – Amritsar.

In the third incident BSF shot down Drone and seized Narcotics. Official said that on 27th March at about 0830 PM, BSF troops deployed along Indo-Pakistan Boundary detected a drone intrusion from the Pakistan side in the area near Village – Rajatal, District – Amritsar. The drone was fired upon and counter-drone measures taken. Subsequently, on 28th Mar’ 2023, during search of the area, BSF troops recovered 01 black coloured drone (Quadcopter, make – DJI Matrice) with a white coloured bag attached from the farming fields in the depth area of Village Rajatal. On opening the bag, 01 big packet of suspected heroin wrapped with yellow coloured adhesive tape (Gross weight 2.6 Kg) and 01 small torch were found.

In fourth incident BSF succeeded to seize  Weapon and Narcotics, official stated that on 28th March at about 0313 AM, BSF troops sensed the presence of miscreant ahead of border fence and heard thumping sound of something thrown over the border fence to own side, near Village – Natha Singh Wala, District – Fazilka. Resultantly, BSF troops fired towards the miscreant, who managed to flee away. Further, during initial search of the area, BSF troops recovered 02 packets, suspected to be Heroin (Gross weight 02 kg), wrapped with yellow colour tape alongwith 01 Pistol (Made in China), 01 Magazine and 08 Rounds.
