Drugs of value worth over Rs 5 crore destroyed at Ambala

Divisional police Ambala destroyed drugs of value worth over Rs 5 crore seized by the police in as many as 133 cases registered under NDPS Act in Ambala,  Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts in the division at village Bhadog in the presence of Shrikant Jaghav ADGP Ambala division also holding charge of Narcotic Burteau in the state after obtaining report from Forensic Laboratory. Drugs were destroyed in the presence of Drugs Disposal Committee in the presence of Shrikant ADGP and Jashandeep Singh Randhawa SP Ambala.

Randhawa told media persons that its first time seized drugs have been destroyed at Ambala because earlier such drugs seized by the police were being destroyed at Kurukshetra. He told that drugs recovered by the police in 133 cases included nearly 2.98 quintal poppy husk (Chura post), 91 kg 796 gm ganja, nearly 901 gm Heroine, 1.5 kg sulpha, 10 gm charas, 8500 intoxicated capsules, 59391 intoxicated tablets, 1586 intoxicated injections and 91 bottle intoxicated syrup.

Randhawa told that the value of heroine destroyed in this case was nearly Rs 4.5 crore. He disclosed that Ambala police has recovered heroine of value worth Rs 20 crore so far from drug smugglers in past 10 months this year. He said Ambala police has recovered heroine of value worth Rs 20 crore from drug smugglers in past 10 months this year and arrested as many as 135 persons in 111 cases registered under NDPS Act.
