Every 7th person from weaker section families in Haryana found medically unfit: Report

Every seventh person from weaker section families in Haryana state during a medical check up under ‘Nirog Haryana Yozna’ campaign launched in the state, was detected suffering from a health disorder, it was disclosed to media persons by Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He said that health department teams had medically checked nearly 13.77 lakh members of families belonging to weaker sections in the state, of whom nearly 2.13 lakh persons were found suffering from some health disorder and were advised to get treatment in the hospital.

During first phase, 30,60,000 families from weaker sections having total number of 1 crore 26 lakh 54 thousand members in these families were examined by health department teams, when it was detected that nearly nearly 55000 persons mostly women were found suffering from Anemia, nearly 35000 persons suffering from Blood Pressure, nearly 22000 persons suffering from sugar disorders, nearly 3000 persons especially children and females suffering from mal-nutrition and 1257 persons were found suffering from Tuberculosis (TB).

According to information by the chief minister presently nearly 29 lakh families in the state suffering from a disease having family income up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually are getting free treatment under ‘Chirag’ Card scheme apart from ‘Ayushman’ scheme in which these families  are eligible for free medical assistance up to Rs 5 lakh. Khattar said that people should perform regular exercise and practice ‘Yoga’ to maintain good health for which the state government is opening ‘Yogshala’ in every village across the state and as many as 1000 such ‘Yogshala’ are ready in the state.
