Fast increasing rift between civil and police officers in Haryana : DGP

After the Haryana Chief minister ManoharLalKhatter has given green signal to wipe out corruption in government offices completely in the state, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the state has rounded large number of corrupt  senior officers and other employees working in government offices, demanding zero tolerance against corruption as a result several high profile government officers including of the IAS, IPS, IFS and other in the ranks of gazetted officers have been trapped in the vigilance net in past sometime, which including two IAS officers Vijay Dahiya, Managing Director KaushalRozgar Nigam and  JaiveerArya, Managing Director Haryana Warehousing Corporation, both were arrested by the ACB in past couple of days while accepting Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh bribe respectively, as a result a rift has been seen  between IAS and IPS lobby in the state. DGP Haryana ShatrujitKapoor, also holding the charge of ACB chief said that chief minister has given green signal to wipe out corruption in government offices in the state, desiring a zero tolerance policy against corruption in Haryana.

According to information, nearly four dozen senior bureaucrats in Haryana state are facing investigation in the state which include IAS, IPS, HCS, HPS and officers holding senior positions in other cadres. Information also reveals that investigation by the ACB is going on at present against 12 IAS officers, 2 IPS officers, 3 IFS officers, 4 HPS officers and 20 HCS officers out of them 4 IAS and 3 IFS officers have already been retired from the services There are few officers undergoing  investigation in several corruption cases against them. Information also reveals that in past two years  as many as 56  gazetted officers allegedly involved in corrupt practices  have been trapped in the ACB net.

ShatrujitKapoor is first police officer succeeded in pushing  large number of senior government officers behind bars after he took charge  of the State Vigilance Bureau presently known as Anti Corruption Bureau on 3rd September 2021 who registered cases against 286 corrupt officers, 56 gazzetted officers, 294 non-gazetted officers and 81 private persons while accepting the bribe. According to ACB’s recent report till August 10, 2023 ACB in the state has registered cases against 74 police personnel, 49 revenue department officers, 29 employees of the state electricity department, 17 local urban department officers and 137 employees of other different  government departments in the state.
