First Jan Aushadhi Kendra opened in government institution of Haryana

*Facility started in Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital says MLA Yamunanagar Ghanshyam

Yamunanagar : Dass Arora inaugurated the states’s first JAN AUSHADHI KENDRA at the Government Health Institution (Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, Yamuna Nagar) on 18th of January 2024.  Along with this, MLA also inaugurated a One-Day Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccination camp for the health workers working in the Hospital. On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr Manjeet Singh, PMO-MLDCH Dr Divya Mangla, Dr Vipul Goel, Dr. Nisha Gurava, Dr. VPS Dahiya, Dr. Shiv Kumar, DR. Reema Beri & Gaurav along with other Officials were present.  MLA Ghanshyam Dass encouraged DR. Reema (Dietician) by giving her Appreciation Certificate for her excellent work. In the event, especially Dr. Om Prakash Verma, Nodal Officer (Haryana) from Delhi Head Quarter was present for the inauguration of JAN AUSHADHI KENDRA at MLDCH, Yamuna Nagar.

On this occasion, MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora said that the government is fully conscious about the health of the common people and is making every possible effort for the same. He told that Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country to save the citizens from expensive medicines, where generic medicines are available at lowest prices than the market. So that even poor people can easily get health services and medicines. Along with this, he has appealed to all the doctors and officials to tell the patients about the Jan Aushadhi Kendra and help the common people to avail the benefits of the facilities provided by the government. The MLA appreciated the work of all the health workers and said that health workers are always in danger of infection; hence vaccination should be done from time to time to prevent them from infection.

On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjeet Singh said that Swine Flu (H1N1) is an infection, which produces a type of influenza virus called Swine Flu.  It is similar to flu virus and causes respiratory infection in humans. Therefore, vaccination is necessary to prevent the disease, that’s why today a one-day H1N1 vaccination camp has been organized for all health workers at Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar. Along with this, he said that by setting up Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the hospital, patients will not have to buy medicines from outside at higher prices, At Jan Aushadhi Kendra medicines will be available at lower prices in the hospital. Apart from this, common people can also take medicines from the Kendra directly on the prescription done by outer Doctors.

Dr. Divya Mangala, Principal Medical Officer of Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar said that a Jan Aushadhi Center has been set up in the hospital premises, in which the pharmacists of the hospital will be working and provide medicines to the patients at government set prices. He told that many medicines are usually bought by patients from outside at maximum prices, which are easily available at Jan Aushadhi Kendra at lower prices fixed by the government. Therefore, by having a Jan Aushadhi Center in the hospital, the common people will be able to get full benefit of government facilities. He also informed that a one-day vaccination program for health workers was conducted from 09 AM to 03 PM, during which H1N1 vaccine was vaccinated to the Health Workers working in the hospital.

On this occasion, Dr. Om Prakash Verma, Nodal Officer (Haryana), who came from Delhi, informed that Jan Aushadhi Kendra have been set up all over the country, hence in the state of Haryana also, Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened to provide facilities in all the districts. But these Kendras were not formed in government institutions. This is the first Jan Aushadhi Kendra has been opened in Mukand Lal District Civil Hospital, i.e. a government institution, in which common generic medicines will be made available to the people by the government at 70% to 80% lower rates.
