Corruption is no less in Haryana Police, five officers are caught taking bribe every month; 49 police employees have been arrested.. DGP Shatrujit Kapoor also handling the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken a strong action against corrupt officers and employees as well as private people giving bribes. The bureau has registered 140 cases within the last 10 months, information reveals among those arrested include a total of 31 gazetted officers, 149 non-gazetted officers and 30 persons from the private sector have been arrested by the Bureau team for taking and giving bribes. The Bureau has also arrested 49 police officers for taking bribes this year, with bribes ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Every month five police officers and employees are caught taking the bribe.
The scenario reveals that last year 2021 the Bureau had arrested 21 gazetted officers, 140 non-gazetted officers and 26 private persons during this period, arrested eight gazetted officers, 40 non-gazetted officers and 49 private individuals. “This means that corruption is being continuously attacked by the Anti Corruption Bureau” Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor heads the Anti-Co. He said that no matter who the corrupt person is, the Bureau will take action by adopting a policy of zero tolerance. By taking proactive steps this year, the Bureau has acted on the unwavering and unwavering commitment of Chief Minister Manohar Lal towards providing corruption-free governance. He said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau has disposed of these cases promptly, while in the year 2021, the Bureau disposed of 51 cases from January to the end of October, whereas in the year 2022, the Bureau has disposed of 147 cases during this time period.
Kapoor said, by the end of October this year, 177 cases have been disposed of and the arrested police officers and employees include officers of various ranks like Inspector, Sub Inspector, Head Constable and Constable from various police stations and units across the state.
