Haryana government has started efforts to join hands with large number of foreign manufactueres presently having their business set up in China and willing to shift to some other country due to epidemic outbreak corona virus, shortage of workers and lot of interference by the government in China. Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khatter has constituted a high power committee comprising of HSIIDC chairman Rajesh Khuller also principal secretary to chief minister, Apurva Kumar Singh chief secretary industrial commerce department and Anurag Aggarwal HSIIDC managing direcor already started work to discuss with foreign manufacturers presently having their set up in China and now planning to make investment in other countries and according to information has already discussed proposals with three firms expressed desire to make investment in Haryana state.
Information reveals, as many as 56 firms from different parts across the world presently working in China has stopped production and planning to shift their business in some other country and most of them while discussing expressed interest to make investment in India and in most of cases their first choice was to set up industry in NCR area in Haryana state covering New Delhi from three sides. Haryana state government during preliminary discussion with the representatives assured foreign investors attractive packages, provision of land in industrial zones and all facilities to set up their industry at a single window as such several manufacturers from Japan, Korea and United States especially in IT, automobiles, electronics, textile, scientific instruments and plywood sectors expressed their interest in making investment in Haryana.
According to state industrial data, there are 1600 large manufacturing units owned by reputed business houses and nearly 90000 micro and small manufacturing units in Haryana state having facilities for availabilty of land, 24 hours power supply,availability of cheap labour in the area, easy availability of transport for entire country, single window facilities and above all international airport at New Deli close to Haryana state especially in NCR. Sources reveal, as may as 26 manufacturers has already decided to shift their business to Vietnam, 11 manufacturers to Taiwan and 8 manufacturers to Thailand from China where nearly 56 manufacturers has discontinued their business and most of them were found interested to make industrial investment in Haryana.
There are eight prime factors attracted foreign manufactures presently in China preferring to set up industry at NCR in Haryana, which include nearly 300 multinational companies in software as well as large number of industries manufacturing automobiles and readymade garments. Apart from this Faridabad in NCR is another famous industry hub having thousands of manufacturing units. KMP and KJP express ways around Delhi connect Haryana state to Mumbai, on both sides of KMP express way Haryana state government has proposed to develop ‘Panchgram’ as well as industrial units along with Metro line likely to have final shape shortly. Work on rail corridor service is under process to prove highly beneficial for industry in Haryana state with easy approach to Mumbai and other parts in the country. A logistic hub is being developed in 1000 acres area by Haryana state government at a distance of 124 kilometers from Gurugram. Land is cheaper in Haryana state as compared to other parts in the country. Availability of power supply round the clock as well as single window system facility in the state and out of total number of 22 districts in Haryana state14 districts fall under National Capital Area having large number of industrial units manufacturing automobiles, auto parts and other ancillary units as such skilled labour is easily available at cheaper cost.
Rajesh Khuller chairman HSIIDC told media persons that attractive offers have been given to foreign manufacturers planning to shift their business from China, solving their major problems while making investment in Haryana and offered them land initially on lease basis, which would subsequently be transferred on freehold basis in their name on easy terms after establishment of their business. Khuller disclosed the names of few reputed multi national companies shown interest in setting up industry in Haryana state, the names are not being disclosed till contracts are signed with them. The entrepreneurs suggested to develop Trackers Parks in the state since it is not possible for them to make heavy investment on land. In reply to a question Khuller told that after lock down permission to open industries has been granted to 19626 industrial units in the state in which nearly 1121000 worker would work.
