Four arrested in case of Crypto fraud worth crores of rupees

Ambala : The Haryana Police have arrested four persons allegedly cheated large number of people amount worth crores of rupees by luring them with an offer of high returns through a fake company Crypto World Trading Company having office in Sector 8 Ambala City with a wide network of agents mainly in adjoining districts Karnala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar and many other districts in the state. Addressing a press conference SP Ambala Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said that CIA staff Ambala police led by Inspector Harjinder Singh arrested four accused identified as Kapil  Jaiswal  a resident of Ekta Vihar Ambala Cantt, Vikas Kalra a resident of Ambala City, Tarun Taneja, and Ramesh Kumar both residents of Kurukshetra.

Randhawa told that a case was registered at Sadar police station Ambala City on the complaint of Mandeep Singh a resident of village Bhanokheri near Ambala City on 24th August 2022 when Kapil Jaiswal was arrested on 6th September, Vikas was arrested from Amritsar (Punjab) on 8th September, Tarun was nabbed from Pilani (Rajasthan) on 10th September and Ramesh was arrested from Ambala on 12th September. Ambala Sadar police station had received several complaints against the firm after complaint lodged by Mandeep resident of village Bhanokheri duped by them as well as several others amount worth lakhs of rupees investing with Crypto World Trading Company.

Randhawa said, during investigation, properties worth about Rs 60 lakh have been seized from the accused including the seizure of 13 bank accounts and the recovery of four luxury vehicles, cash, and gold. He said investigation is going on by a team of SIT led by DSP and action will be taken against whoever is found to be involved during the course of the investigation and detail of all agents associated with this cheat company are being procured for further action. Information reveals, company owners as well as its agents were assuring investors claiming that their company was working on the investment software designed by google duly approved by the government. The investors got suspected when company’s office at Ambala City was found closed and website as well as Watts App found disappeared. SP Ambala told that it is yet difficult to say exact amount in fraud since investigating team yet checking the amount of transactions in 13 bank accounts and trying to find out addressed of company’s agents. The remand period of alleged accused will end on Saturday when police will try to get extended police remand further, Randhawa said.
