KARNAL : Four terrorists identified as Gurpreet working as mastermind, his brother Amandeep both residents of Zeera in Ferozpur district, Parvinder resident of Makhu in Ferozpur district and Bhupinder resident of Bhatia in Ludhiana district all working on the tips of Babbar Khalsa group were arrested by Karnal police on the information of Punjab police which chased them for nearly 300 km distance in Punjab while travelling in their white Inova car and were arrested by three Dial 112 police teams near Bastada Toll Plaza at Karnal and during checking recovered explosive material including a country made pistol, 32 cartridges, a magazine, six mobile phones and Rs 1.30 lakh currency notes in three improvised Explosive Devise (IED). Police registered a case against four at Madhuban police station Karnal and they were remanded to police custody for 10 days by the court late evening after their medical examination.
During preliminary investigation, arrested accuse admitted having links with Harvinder Singh alias Rinda a former gangster in Punjab having large number of criminal cases registered against him at different police stations in Punjab, later became a terrorist and presently living in Pakistan working on the tips of ISI in Pakistan attempting to spread terrorism in India. Gurpreet disclosed that the explosive material was supplied by Rinda from Pakistam via drone in agriculture fields near Ferozpur border for onward delivery at Adilabad in Telgana. He admitted earlier supplied consignments of explosive material sent by Rinda from Pakistan at Amritsar and Nanded in Maharashtra few months ago. Information reveals, Gurpreet was introduced to Rinda by Rajbir when he was lodged in Ludhiana jail with him and he was convinced to work for Rinda involved in spreading terrorism by Pakistan ISI and will be financially compensated to form a network in India.
Meanwhile, several Intelligence teams from Haryana, Punjab, FSL and Bomb Diffusing Squad reached Karnal to investigate the case. Government of India has decided to seek Interpol help for the arrest of Rinda involved in terrorism who originally belongs to Tarantaran in Punjab and was a student leader in Punjab University in 2016 when he came in contact with gangsters and was also involved in a murder case allegedly killed his relative for property and managed to flee to Nanded, later he became a terrorist. He was wanted by police in several criminal cases allegedly granade attack on CIA police station, bomb explosion in Ludhiana courts complex in 2021, placing a tiffin bomb near Budail jail Chandigarh and few other cases which made Rinda a history sheeter. Rinda finally managed to flee to Pakistan.
Arrested accuse admitted hand grenade recovered near MM University Mullana in Ambala district on March 19 this year were thrown by them. Punjab police has also arrested their two other companions Akashdeep and Jashanpreet from Bhatinda on the information of Gurpreet. Police also checking call detail of Gurpreet’s mobile phones as well as bank account. Information revealed that they used to smuggle drugs from Pakistan for supply in the country.
