Four Mumbai Railway Hockey Players Bound for Tokyo Olympics

Mumbai : Four players from the Mumbai Division of Central Railway have been selected in the National Women’s Hockey Team representing India in Tokyo Olympics 2021.

Describing it as a proud moment for the Central Railway since four of its staff have been selected in the Indian squad announced for the Tokyo Olympics, the CR authorities also noted that the 16-member Indian women’s hockey team comprised of 13 players who are employed in the Indian Railways.

The four players are working in Ticket Checking Cadre on the Mumbai Division of Central Railway and include:  Monika Malik (Head TC), Vandana Kataria (Head TC),  Shushila Chanu Pukhrambam (Head TC) and stand-in Goalkeeper  Rajini Etimarpu (Head TC).

The four players have been playing for Central Railway over the last few years under coaching of  Helen Mary (Arjuna Awardee) and Sarita Grover – both ‘National Hockey Players’ also working on Central Railway.
