Mumbai : Game-changing moments happen anytime and anywhere  be it in business or on the sports field.  But when the two come together, it’s a celebration.

Future Generali India Insurance here chose to highlight its annual report for FY 2022-23 by celebrating the game changing moments  through launching a book that also included such moments in cricket.

The book, penned by veteran sports journalist Ayaz Memon and released at the hands of cricketing leg-spinner Anil Kumble, featured 18 diverse and epic “Game-Changing Moments” from ‘India’s first Test match’ to the recently-concluded Women’s Premier League.

The unique cricketing moments across different eras featured exclusive interviews by Memon with four legendary cricketers: Mohinder Amarnath, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman and Mithali Raj.

Actor Mandira Bedi anchored the event where Anil Kumble launched the memoir-cum-annual report in the presence of Memon and Anup Rau, MD&CEO, Future Generali India Insurance.

Memon then narrated a chapter from the book beautifully brought to life through a “sand presentation.” Kumble added fun to the event by “bowling to Anup Rau” and instead striking the LED screen  shattering it to reveal the ‘Annual Report.’

Kumble later described cricket as a sport that epitomizes: hope, joy, celebration – and sometimes even gloom among India’s billion-plus population, though inspiration  remained a constant among the spectrum of emotions.

“Be it a valiant loss or a gallant victory, Cricket represents the spirit of ‘efforts over results’ much like insurance,” Kumble said while congratulating Memon, Rau and Team FGII for their efforts in making this audacious book project a reality.

FGII’s Rau said “We have transformed our annual report into a collectible cricketing memoir for sale and the funds generated here will go to our NGO partners for a noble cause.”
