Gang of 4 busted involved in  pre-natal sex determination by7 Ambala health department with 2 arrests

Ambala: Health department team of Ambala ditrict comprising of Dr Balvinder Kaur SMO, Dr Vijay Verma, Dr Hitarth Markanday and Manish on a clue about an intr-state racket running business of illegal pre-natal sex determination of unorn child in pregnant women prepared pregnant woman who contacted a member of the gang a broker Vikki resident of village Naneola in Ambala district to get checked the sex of unborn baby she was carrying in her womb. She was asked to reach Manav Chowk on Ambala-Hisar Road where she reached at the appointed time by a car arranged by the health department, where both Vikki and another broker Harmeet were waiting for her and the deal to check the sex of the unborn child was finalized at Rs 40,000. Both took the  pregnant woman to village Matehri in Ambala district, then took her to village Devigarh adjoining Ambala in Punjab area where the woman was introduced to another youth Satpal. The pregnant  woman was taken to Shahbad in Kurukshetra district, then to Pehowa and Yamunanagar just to confuse the pregnant woman without knowing that they were chased by the health department team in another car.

From Yamunanagar, the car carrying four moved their vehicle towards Saharanpur and Haridwar, which  however  went out of sight of Ambala health department team chasing them. However, the pregnant woman along with three agents reached Nattur in Bijnor district in U.P where they went to a well equipped ultrasound centre to get the woman checked. However, health department team started waiting on the roadside at the entry point of Yamunanagar and after few hours saw car coming, stopped the vehicle when police accompanying health department team along with a female constable arrested Harmeet resident of village Lottan in Ambala district and Satpal a resident of village Dudhan in Patiala district, but  Vikki managed to slip. The pregnant woman said that the brokers had paid Rs 26000 to the owner of the ultrasound centre and health department team recovered Rs 14000 from both agents. After registering the case on August 1 late night Ambala police started a search for the arrest of agent Vikki and took action against the owner of the ultrasound centre.
