Gang of 5, robbed gold worth over Rs 4 crore, Rs 2.81 lakh cash arrested

CIA Staff Panipat police on a clue that a group of youths planning for a robbery in a clinic at Krishna Colony during raid on July 15 late evening arrested five youths including four originally hailing from Western U.P presently residing at Panipat allegedly involved in a robbery in the office of a finance company IIFL Gold Loan Company about two and half years ago on January 20, 2018. The gang of five identified as Imran mastermind in the gang permanent resident of village Aaldi (Shamli), Daud  resident of village Roshanpura (Saharanpur), Rajiv Sangwan and Bijender both residents of village Bhambharhedi (Karnal)  and Sunny a unregistered doctor running a clinic at Krishna Colony Panipat originally hailing from Shamli in U.P planned a conspiracy to rob finance company in broad daylight at around 9.30 AM when office just opened on January 29, 2018, when three of them Imran, Rajiv Sangwan and Bijender having covered their faces entered the office on Sanoli Road Panipat and remaining two Daud and Dr Sunny remained outside the office to provide vigilance during incident. They locked staff in the office at pistol point and managed to flee after collecting gold jewellery of value over Rs 4 crore along with Rs 2.81 lakh currency notes lying in the cash box in office.

Satish Vats DSP Headquarter Panipat told media persons that the mastermind in the crime Daud originally hailing from Saharanpur district residing at Bharat Nagar Panipat along with family planned a conspiracy to rob finance company after he lost Rs five lakh in gambling and all the five arrested by police during preliminary investigation admitted crime and disclosed that after committing crime they left for Dehradun for four days on enjoyment trip and distribute stolen gold jewellery and cash which was sold by them after few months at Delhi and Haryana at 50% rates recovering about Rs 2 lakh, out of which they have already spent Rs 1.48 crore so far . They also purchased a Swift car after three months. Vats told that five arrested were produced in the court and remanded to police custody for five days. He said, police has been able to recover only 81.310 gm gold jewellery, Rs 52.25 lakh cash, old Swift car and three country made pistols used in the crime from five accused.
