Amritsar : Custom Department at Shri Guru Ramdas International Airport(SGRDIA) have seized gold worth Rs. 49.94 lakh here today.
In an official statement issued here, official stated that Customs staff of Shri Guru RamdasInternational Airport, Amritsar intercepted one passenger coming from Sharjah by Air India Express flight IX 138 in the morning of 17th July, 2023.
Official further informed that on personal search of the passenger, three cream coloured capsules were found hidden inside his rectum weighing 1183 grams. The recovered gold from the said 3 white capsules was 844 grams and market value of the said gold is Rs. 49.94 lakh. The same was seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962. Further investigation is under process.
