New Delhi: The government will soon allot five coal mines to state-owned power utilities, a move aimed at ensuring un-interrupted power supply to consumers.
“Five Schedule I coal mines have been marked for allotment to power companies,” an official said.
Of the five coal blocks, four are in Jharkhand and one is in Chhattisgarh, the official said “The four coal mines in Jharkhand are Amarkonda Murgadangal, Ashok Karkatta, Latehar, Mahuagarhi and Madanpur (North),” the official said. — PTI
